Lake Mburo National Park forms the magical iconic wildlife habituation in its smallest ecological Niche in the western region of Uganda Kiruhura District, just about 30 kilometers, accessible by road, east of Mbarara town. Mburo park is a confined centre for short day group Uganda Safaris, and is a centre to most of the Uganda Parks to the western part.

Although it’s known for its small area the park is the only place best to view a recorded number of over 350 bird species including the kingfisher, papyrus, great snipe, yellow warble, white winged warbler.

As well as a number of mammals including Zebras, impalas, giraffes, Elands, buffaloes, water bucks, leopards, hippos, hyenas, topis, spotted hyena, reed bucks, olive baboons, and also a lion which has recently returned after a long period after poaching. The park has different lakes and swamps that support abundant herds of antelopes, attracts hippos and crocodiles. The park takes approximately 4 hours from Kampala the capital city of Uganda

This can be done here as well as to obtain your sports fishing licences. There are six fish species here and Tilapia is the main fish at the lake.
