Rushaga sector is found in the southern part of Bwindi forest, it has the highest point in terms of altitude in high hills where the habituated Gorilla families kept separating, sub dividing to different hills as they tried much to interfere with other groups.
Nkuringo sector is located close to Buhoma covered on a total surface of 10km from Buhoma although the distance is covered with the impenetrable forest and the walk takes about 4 hours, and 7hours by car from the two points. Nkuringo is the main and only family in the sector, Nkuringo means hills and it was derived from a Rukiga word. The family was launched in 2004 led by a silver back named Nkuringo who died in 2008. The family consists of 2 sliver backs and it’s the friendliest Gorilla group which at times tend to reach and touch the clients.
